New Day of the Dead Blu-ray arriving in Japan...

.
It's doubtful, but maybe this Blu-ray, debuting September 4th from Happinet Pictures, will rectify the underwhelming picture quality of both the prior Anchor Bay/Starz and Arrow Video Blu-rays. The tech specs and supplements (mostly) seem to match the Starz BD which might be an ominous sign...

The official press release states the transfer is from the "highest quality HD master available", so we'll see...

Unfortunately, I've heard it's the same rather weak transfer seen on the Anchor Bay and Arrow Video Blu-rays...

I find this Jap set looks awful. Drab and lifeless which can be spotted right away with the "almost" red carpet at the beginning. I prefer by Anchor Bay Ultimate edition box set. Looks better imho.

...do you dare tread upon the staircase?
