So I'm reading the newspaper this morning...

.
...and see this in an ad for Burton's Alice in Wonderland:

Rated PG for fantasy action/violence involving scary images and situations, and for a smoking caterpillar.

Most of us probably know of the Caterpillar already from neither the book or Disney classic; though isn't the MPAA's little rating descriptions getting ever more stupid?

They're just trying to appease the anti-smoking Nazis.

(I'm not a smoker, think smoking is a stupid, obnoxious habit, but I think the anti-smoking extremists are even more obnoxious.)

That is beyond ridiculous. I guess now we can expect all televised football games to be rated TV-MA for encouraged violence, irrational reactions, homoerotic undertones, and suggestive sexual positions.

The fuck?

The MPAA once rated a Disney movie PG for "some bullying".

...do you dare tread upon the staircase?
