Yard Sale Motherload Redux: The Rest for a Song...

Following up this entry, I noticed the harborers of the cheap horror tape nest once again were shoveling their front yard wears and this time they offered me the rest for just ten bucks!?! I figured what the hell, despite "the rest" being five copy paper boxes of slim pickings. I was able to distill the boxes down to just over one filled with keepers. The remaining stuffed three boxes I gave to my disabled uncle. So now he'll be able to enjoy a metric ton of stuff like Austin Powers, Marked for Death, Corky Romano, and a half dozen X-Files tapes.

The first two pics below are from the boxes, the third is from the swap meet. Check out those (sealed) Full Moon movieCD releases! The DVD hidden in front of the F13s is Criterion's Au hasard Balthazar. I snagged another cool Anchor Bay clamshell VHS, The Wraith is rare, and Splinter was gotten for $3.

I'm always so envious when I read, of all these great finds at yard sales, which are kinda of a rarity here in the UK, no doubt somthing to with the large amount of rain.

I think my last decent VHS blag, was when my video store closed down, a few years back and sold all thier stock, but since then it's been pretty slim, outside of raiding charity shops, but hearing tales like this, makes me still hope for that VHS horde that just waiting to be discovered.

Always envious of your yard sale and flea market finds. Around here if it's not in Spanish it usually doesn't show up at the flea markets. Yard sales I don't even bother with these days, however you have me interested in digging around the hundreds of VHS tapes at the local Half-Price Books.

...do you dare tread upon the staircase?
